SNOW CULTURE - "THE BOX"
Swedish dark pop duo Snow Culture released a new single called “The Box” on April 5th. Their debut single “No Sleep” was released earlier this year. Originally only revealing themselves as “A” and “O” we now know the duo to be Ana Diaz and Oskar Sikow. The release of their first single got them attention from the label Neon Gold Records (Tove Lo, Marina and the Diamonds) which now represents them. They premiered their newest song exclusively at Billboard, along with their first interview. “The Box” is a catchy pop song with a strong beat. Diaz’s psychedelic sounding voice brings an almost trippy vibe to the song. There is definitely a Tove Lo feel to her sound specifically, so it makes sense they would be under the same music label. The consistency of the beat as the song wanders, takes instrumental breaks and explores echoes and recalls of the repeating lines of the chorus gives it structure and makes it feel almost endless. An interesting second single from these Swedish musicians and an endorsement from Billboard gives the impression this is only the beginning for Snow Culture.
