JANICE, THE SWEDISH "QUEEN"
Meet Sweden's Janice (pronounced jah-nees). Her vocals are so powerful on this hook they remind me of Adele. The soulful organ-infused instrumental helps bring out that passion. She's been compared to Jessie Ware/Lianne La Havas/Sienabo Sey with a little pinch of Tina Turner.
Janice is nominated for a Swedish Grammy for Best New Act after amassing millions of Spotify streams. Her album "Fallin' Up" released February 2nd, check that out!
Janice said about Queen;
"I wanted to write about that person that makes me want to be the best version of myself, despite all my bad habits and what I’ve been through. It’s for me and all women, for us to never settle for less to be everything we wanna be."

For International Women's Day, Janice teamed up with the Swedish Red Cross and three other big Swedish artists. Sabina Dbumba, AMWIN and LASH all helped put together a new video and version of "Queen"
This project is an an itiative of the red cross as "for women by women" called #Medsyster (sisters) and will be raising money for women in conflicted areas around the world. The funds generated from this campaign go towards the Red Cross's disaster work towards maternity care for those in need, as well four specially selected projects: work on genital mutilation in Sudan, increased access to health for women in Afghanistan and preparations for natural disasters in Bangladesh and Myanmar.
On this new version produced by Natali Noor, the artists have interpreted what sisterhood means to them. The new video directed by Nicolina Knapp involved 100 people working on the production, all identifying as women.
