PRODUCER DISCRETE RECRUITS CHRIS COLLINS FOR "BETTER DAYS"
Discrete is a polished and veteran producer, who’s accumulated an impressive list of accomplishments, particularly in Asia. His new track with lifelong friend Chris Collins is called Better Days. It’s a slick and groovy pop track that they wrote and produced in one 17 hour stretch.
Discussing the track, Discrete said: “I met a fifteen-year-old Chris Collins five years ago, and we must have written hundreds of songs together since then. Other projects sent us in different directions, but we reunited in the studio last fall. I got to see how much he had grown as a songwriter when he and I sat down to write from scratch. We wrote ‘Better Days’ from start to finish in 17 hours straight.”
Better Days is underscored by warm synths pads, hard-hitting disco drums, funky muted guitars, and various effects and subtleties. It’s straightforward and effective, as the focal point is the vocals. It’s a strong pop song, and Chris’ voice is clean, smooth and Bieberish. It’s got a good pulse to it, with big 2s and 4s, and a punchy kick. These guys obviously know what they’re doing, and this is a good jam.
