18-year-old Brampton, Ontario resident Alessia Cara (or currently just Alessia) is quickly gaining recognition with her first Def-Jam release, ‘Here’, which sounds like a hit the first time you hear it. Produced by Pop and Oak and Sebastian Kole, Alessia gets the opportunity to showcase her talent over an Isaac Hayes sample.

What makes ‘Here’ such a unique track is Alessia’s honesty about the misery one can find themselves in at a party they’re not entirely thrilled with; bad music, eager boys and gossip girls. Her vocal style is a strange brew of Alicia Keys with a touch of Halsey and the confidence she displays on her debut single is part what makes this track so unforgettable.

Not much is to be found online regarding Alessia apart from information on various blogs surrounding this song, but expect to see a lot more soon especially if she continues to put out tracks like this one, ‘Here’. ***UPDATE - Official Video Below***
