Hot on the heels of a spectacular set at Canadian Music Week last Friday, Toronto’s own For Esmé just premiered the new video for their most recent single, “You.” This is the second single from the trio’s upcoming album, ‘Sugar’, which is due out later this year.

“You” is the band’s most captivating single to-date. For Esmé’s unique sound is cosmically dreamy while still masterfully avoiding the lifeless washed-out sound of overly-synthesized electro-pop. Frontwoman Martha Meredith’s radiantly energetic vocals are perfectly balanced with the ridiculously catchy synth melodies, pulsing percussion, and entrancing instrumentation by band mates, Dave Thiel and Nathan Crook.

Did we mention it’s ridiculously catchy? You are definitely going to want to hit ‘repeat’ and dance along to this one — just like the band (who seem to be channeling their inner Robyn) do in the infectious new video. Watch below:

Adam Hender’s “I Don’t Mind” is a sulky ode to selfless, unconditional love. He croons his desire to see an unrequited love happy, even apart from him. As hopeless as his cause is, I’m sure its a position almost all of us have been in, one time or another.
