Mr. Reed

Based out of New York City, Mr. Reed (James Nathaniel Reed) has made great strides since being discovered for his busker work, playing with his 8-piece band on NPR, The Greene Space and even a critically acclaimed performance on America’s Got Talent in 2012 where he performed an incredibly fresh cover of Phil Collins’ ‘In The Air Tonight’.

Mr. Reed remains unsigned, although he recently stated on his Facebook page that he isn’t even seeking a deal. The renegade musician is only looking for tour sponsors and is offering his music for free so that when the opportunity arises, fans will be more willing to support whatever philanthropic endeavour he may need assistance with.

If you enjoyed the clip above, then you’ll love the rest of his catalogue which you can find in its entirety here on Soundcloud.

Christone 'Kingfish' Ingram

The most amazing thing about this teenaged, guitar-playing wunderkind is that he only picked up the instrument when he was 11-years-old, albeit he was slapping the bass when he was 9 and smashing drums when he was merely 6.

His talent was captured on film and the internet worked its magic, sharing his video over 11 million times on Facebook alone. This exposure has helped him collect over 32,000 likes on his FB Fan Page and has even lead to him playing at the Whitehouse and opening for Buddy Guy.

His authentically bluesy voice is just one of many to emerge from the Delta region and should come as no surprise that he also learned at the Delta Blues Museum.

Kingfish will be touring with his band all summer so you can stay up to date on show stops on his website and check out a full 10-minute live performance at last years Big Eyed Blues Festival where you can also get a sample of his smooth vocals.

Savoy Ellis’ “Fate” (feat. Kafeeno) is slick, smooth and spacey. This moody R&B bop pulls itself along with a strong bass groove and gorgeous vocal runs, sparing no expense on its hooks. It’s catchy and has a nice chord progression, to boot.
