CHVRCHES START TO PREVIEW NEW ALBUM WITH 'LEAVE A TRACE' SINGLE

July 31, 2015

CHVRCHES are beginning to preview material for their sophomore effort. The Scottish synth-pop outfit will follow its breakout 2013 album ‘The Bones of What You Believe’ this fall with their second LP. ‘Every Open Eye’, which was recorded in the same Glasgow studio as their debut, will be released on September 25th through Glassnote Records. In addition to the album announcement, the band dropped the first single off of their upcoming release, titled “Leave A Trace”.

The post-break up stadium anthem is a promising preview of ‘Every Open Eye’, and a strong indicator that the trio may just avoid the dreaded sophomore slump. The elegantly crafted electro pop track stays true to CHVRCHES’ signature sound, but is notably more self-assured than past releases. This assertive and confident change in tone is no surprise after the success they have achieved since their 2013 debut. The band is appearing at a slew of festivals this summer, and has already announced a solo headline tour in support of their upcoming release. CHVRCHES will be playing The Danforth Music Hall back-to-back on October 4th and 5th. Until then, take a listen to “Leave A Trace” below:
