It has been about 20 years since your favourite pop-punk band first serenaded your deeply misunderstood soul, pulled on your black heartstrings and became the voice of rebellious adolescents everywhere. After the more temperate "Neighborhoods" in 2011, the band has returned with some changes, in the hopes that new album "California" will bring back and build on their original sound. One of the most noticeable changes to the group is the replacement of co-lead vocalist Tom DeLonge with, Alkaline Trio veteran Matt Skiba, who was recruited to fill the founding member’s space.
While many Blink 182 fans were concerned with Tom Delonge’s absence on stage, some of the biggest changes appear to have been made behind closed doors. John Feldmann, who made a name for himself writing hit songs for bands like Panic! At the Disco and All Time Low, is the producer and co-writer of Blink's new record.
Just in time for Canada Day, on July 1st Blink 182 released their new album "California." Their new songs “Sober”...
and “Bored to Death,”
highlight the connections between the band’s newer and older music, reminding fans that while the band may have grown up quite a bit, their golden-age sound is as timeless as ever.
The band will support the album with a large headlining tour across North America between June and October 2016 alongside The All American Rejects, Simple Plan, A Day to Remember and The Used.
