Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, Ariela Jacobs hits the sweet spot of the folk/pop sound we all know and love. With a song that can be accessible to a large audience, and a delicate, soulful voice, the young singer-songwriter shows off her potential as an artist in “Leave Your Light On.”

While “Leave Your Light On,” is fairly traditional as far as the Jacob’s style goes, her persona is anything but conventional. As an independent artist, the singer describes herself as a “gluten intolerant jewish lesbian,” showing the world that she isn’t afraid to be own person. This bold personality proves her worth as an honest artist. This is a quality that has been clearly captured through the lyricism and stripped-down setting of some of her earlier releases like, “The Sound” and “False Alarm.”

On this most recent track, Jacobs has combined visions with Producer Stephen Mowat (Bliss N Esso, Jinja Safari, Ali Barter, WILSN). Together they have added an element of pop sensibility to Ariela’s sound. The track is full-bodied, polished and uplifting. It is a powerful indie-pop track that deserves a second play.
