BEACHSEASON MAKE BOOTYWAVE WITH "TRIBES"

October 12, 2016

BeachSeason is back with the release of a new single, “Tribes”. The new song is a sexy and groovy R&B track full of gentle velvety vocals, and deep beats. “Tribes” arrives in the waiting anticipation of Beach Season’s upcoming EP release, Libra Year, which is scheduled to drop on November 11th of this year.

Sam Avant and Simon Blitzer team up to form the group, which describes its sound as “booty wave”. Beach Season’s music is a mix of fluttering electronic melodies, and smooth and polished vocals, which work together to create an R&B genre all their own. You might be familiar with Sam and Simon’s work already from their first EP, “Internet Evenings”, which was released in 2013. The duo from Calgary has also previously made music under the name of Obey The Crooks.

Listen to their newest single, “Tribes” below and catch their next show at The Drake Hotel on November 10th.

At first listen, I definitely hear Bryson Tiller in the tone and delivery of Kid Travis. The songwriting on "Atomic Everafter" uses unique chemical metaphors to explain his love for someone special. I'm actually quite surprised I haven't stumbled upon the R&B star...
