THEY WOULD "RATHER DIE"

November 4, 2016

THEY is not your average electronic duo. From Los Angeles, California, THEY took a popular Nirvana guitar riff and re-imagined it in their brand new single “Rather Die”. The duo chose to work with Nirvana’s music in order to pay tribute to one of their favourite songwriters, Kurt Cobain. Speaking about Cobain, Drew Love, THEY’s vocalist, stated that he was “drawn to the vulnerability of his voice and the way he delivered his message – it was haunting.” One year after releasing their debut EP, THEY re-emerged with a bang by releasing their new single “Rather Die”. Smooth guitar riffs taken from Nirvana’s “Polly”, gnarly vocals, and a catchy beat is a killer way to let their fans know they’re back and better than ever.

Since signing to Mind of a Genius, THEY have been surrounded by a powerful roster including ZHU, Gallant and Klangstof, including working with Skrillex. Their reputation stays rising and this song will surely continue widespread attention and acclaim for the duo.

Yes, it might be late on in the year but Violet LaVelle’s “Summer Love”, from September’s “Afraid To Say I Love You” is a bright, poppy bop about the complexity of confusing the love of summer with a summer love. From the unwound cassette cover art with hand-made mixta...
