This Monday, I had the pleasure of attending James Vincent McMorrow’s sold out concert at the Phoenix Concert Theatre. From the first moment James came on stage and started to sing, he sounded heavenly. He started off with a lot of his slow, melodic and smooth songs. Listening to him sing was quite an experience. His voice was so soothing and angelic, and everyone was loving it as they swayed along to the music.

He called the second half of his show the ‘dance’ part. He joked about how he was a bad dancer, and that he was going to be flailing his limbs everywhere, although he wasn’t as bad as he claimed he would be. At this point he played many songs off of his new album, ‘We Move’, such as ‘Rising Water’, which the audience went crazy for. Everyone was smiling, dancing, and singing along.

Overall, this was the best way to spend a Monday night. What could be better than watching the talented James Vincent McMorrow and spending time with good friends? I can’t wait to see what else this guy is going to do, and for him to return to Toronto!
