Bobby Love, the DJ and producer from Toronto, gets back to his hip-hop roots in his newest single “Make Cents” featuring fellow Torontonian, Jazz Cartier. “Make Cents” was released to Love’s Soundcloud page on October 23rd and it ties an electronic beat together with rap lyrics.

Although the majority of Love’s work falls into the category of House and Electronic music, he started his career off producing hip-hop. In an interview with Exclaim! Bobby Love explained how the new song came together.

"I started out producing hip-hop well before I got into electronic music, so when the opportunity arose to work with a rapper I was beyond stoked… Already a fan of Jazz Cartier's music, I was very excited to make this collaboration happen. I immediately knew what to do with the vocal. My goal was to create a genre bending hard-hitting club track that really encompassed my taste in music. This song is a great example of how hip-hop and electronic music don't need to be mutually exclusive."

Bobby Love is apparently in the process of creating his upcoming EP, which does not yet have a scheduled release date.

Jazz Cartier’s album Hotel Paranoia was released on February 1, 2016. Check him out at Rebel Nightclub (Formally Sound Academy) in Toronto on December 15th.
