Breathe Carolina, the electronic pop band from Denver, Colorado, has just come out with a new and emotionally driven single titled, “Echo”. The song was released earlier in the fall on Spinnin’ Records and the video to accompany it dropped on November 25, 2016. It is a tale about breakup and while it will definitely get you moving and dancing, an overwhelming sensation of loss can be felt the whole way through giving the song depth and dynamic. “Echo” is a collaboration between the band and a startup Indie Bass project “IZII”(known for working with DVBBS and remixes of tracks from The Chainsmokers and Skrillex.)
“I’m finding it hard enough to let go
And now I’m surrounded by your echo”
While the single features acoustic elements, it still stays true to Breathe Carolina’s electronic status with a bumpy and energetic beat.
“Breathe Carolina” was originally formed in 2007 by David Schmitt, Tommy Cooperman, and Eric Armenta. The name “Breathe Carolina” emerged from a dream that Schmitt had while he was in 9th grade about calming down a woman named Carolina. Since then, they have released four albums and four EPs together. The band’s entire first album, as well as several pieces released after that, was all created using onlyGarageBand software.
Over the course of 10 years of making music, the band has grown in recognition. Their song "Hello Fascination" has played in the background of the current promos for NBC's “The Jay Leno Show” since 2009. The track was also featured in MTV's show “The City”. (1)
Although band members have changed over time, and the group’s sound has evolved over the years, they continue to make music with high energy and enticing beats.
