JOHN LEGEND FT. CHANCE THE RAPPER - "PENTHOUSE FLOOR"

December 6, 2016

Soul singer John Legend released the first track from his upcoming album on November 16th. Teasing us with the groovy, funky fuelled jam "Penthouse Floor” co-written by Sia with collaborations from Beck associate Greg Kurstin, and features verses from Chance The Rapper

The song starts off with Legend singing verses about taking a woman out on the town, dodging paparazzi alongside other trappings of fame. They finally escape it all by heading up to the penthouse floor. "Once you're above the city lights / Won't want to spend another night, down there on your own / The holding on is made for us / The altitude is dangerous, but we ain't going home,"

"Penthouse Floor” can be found on the 12-track album which was released earlier this month, John writes his lyrics from the perspective of a first-time father alongside someone who challenges ongoing issues digging into Legends long-standing devotion to social justice.
