Simon Green, better known by his stage name, “Bonobo” has just released a stunning new song titled “Break Apart” featuring Rhye. The song will be a part of the British musician’s album “Migration” coming out on January 13 under the label Ninja Tune.
The warm and breathtaking song features trickling piano keys and intoxicating vocals by Rhye front man, Michael Milosh. Originally, “Break Apart” was going to remain an instrumental track. Bonobo had started putting it together while on a plane ride between Miami and Los Angeles but later decided to include Milosh’s singing. (1)
“Migration” will be Bonobo’s sixth studio album. Including the collaboration on “Break Apart”, the album will also feature contributions from Nick Murphy (previously Chet Faker,) Nicole Miglis, and Innoy Gwana. (2)
In discussing the song in a statement, Milosh said: “I’m so happy Simon asked me to work on this song with him. From the moment I heard the instrumental track it spoke to me more than I can express in words. Being able to work with an artist that continuously makes me envious, like Simon, is where I always want to be.”
Bonobo will be playing at the Danforth Music Hall in Toronto on April 24th.
