After much anticipation, Kid Cudi will release his forthcoming album, Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin on December 16th.

Originally scheduled to drop in September, the album was delayed “due to some minor sample clearances being finalized.” Later Kudi wrote on his Facebook page that he checked himself into rehab for depression. He concluded his Facebook post with:

“…I wont be around to promote much, but the good folks at Republic and my manager Dennis will inform you about upcoming releases. The music videos, album release date etc. The album is still on the way. Promise. I wanted to square away all the business before I got here so I could focus on my recovery.”

After the short but seemingly long delay, fans were surprised with not only a new album release date but also a follow up single to Surfin with Pharrell Williams.

Cudder's new track, “Baptized In Fire” features frequent collaborator, Travis Scott.  The powerful collaboration combines Cudi and Scott’s chemistry and talent exceptionally well.  Although the song was slated to be on the album with an earlier release date, fans couldn't help but take note of some of the lyrics that parallel to Cudi’s life and his relationship with Scott.

"Life ain’t easy sober, we live so geeky

Did just what you taught us

Kept peace, no drama

Phoned home to the moon

Did you change your number?

If you win, you get this message

Need you back home

Big bro"

Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin features guest appearances from Willow Smith, Pharrell Williams and Andre Benjamin.
