Scarborough native, John Samuels, a.k.a. Just John is a local artist, writer, curator, entrepreneur and rapper, making him a true renaissance boy. On December 2nd, Noisey premiered his new 9-track alt-rap LP, titled, ‘Renaissance Boy’. The LP features many fellow Torontonians such as M.I. BLUE, LOONY, Shirloq, Reneethevoice, and Pheona. The different features help to showcase a variety of sounds and styles that everyone can appreciate and enjoy.

It is clear that ‘Renaissance Boy’ is a display of Just John’s many musical influences, lyrical abilities and quirky cadence. The artist states that “Renaissance Boy is a play on designing your world and holding on to the kid inside of you”. With stylish and skilled tracks such as “Playground”, “Ignorant Youth”, and “Mediocre”, you won’ be disappointed to say the least. With the outro production by nu's very own, Mikey Bonchar, (aka ellis) make sure you listen to ‘86 Hymns’, it’s definitely a polished and solid tune.

Make sure to give all 9 tracks a listen, from the promising young artist. Also stay up to date with his venue's upcoming events.
