Howie Dorough, more commonly known as Howie D., first catapulted into the spotlight when he and the rest of the Backstreet Boys joined together in 1993, creating what would soon become the most popular boyband in the world. Since dropping their first single, We've Got It Going On in 1995, the Backstreet Boys were very active long into the 2000's. Since the buzz has simmered down a little bit, Howie D. has gone on to do some solo work (while still being a member of the band!). He has been a producer for George Nozuka and Katelyn Tarver, and is currently managing Canadian band Neverest under his company 3 Street Management. He also released his solo album Back To Me in 2011 which was met with moderate success, mainly in Canada (where it really counts, let's be honest). 2011 was a big year for Howie, because he also joined Britney Spears on her Femme Fatale Tour in South America!
Aside from music, Howie D. has also taken up acting. He has guest starred on everyone's favourite teen witch show, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, as well as having a guest appearance on Roswell. Not only that, but he also voiced Santa on the Dora the Explorer's Christmas episode, and all of Backstreet Boys were featured on Arthur as themselves!
Howie has also created a few companies in his life. He and his brother John founded a real estate company, and after their sister died of lupus in 1998 he founded the Dorough Lupus Foundation.
Now, while still pretty active in his media and business endeavours, you can find Howie Dorough celebrating his 10-year marriage anniversary to Leigh Boniello this year, as well as raising their two kids, James Hoke Dorough (7) and Holden John (3).
