Phoenix, Arizona based indie - pop/ rock band, Weslynn consists of longtime friends: Jared Geyer, Greg Olin, and Kevin Holmes.

Formed while at Arizona State University in 2013, the band gained recognition through playing local gigs at coffee shops and venues. The following year the band produced a five track EP titled Dark Days. The EP was engineered and produced by Nashville recording artist, David Dreas.

The band opened up to Cronkite News at ASU about what music and the band means to them:

“Everything we have been through has brought us closer together. We have individually had so many personal trials, that when we start playing music, it all fades away. The world is constantly changing and throwing tragedy into our lives, but WESLYNN has given us the opportunity to rally around each other and made us even closer friends. This music is a direct response to those hard times of love and loss.”

After a year-long hiatus, and channeling love and loss, the band recorded a 5 song EP titledBlack + Champagne in spring of 2016 with producer Dan Parker, releasing it later that summer.

Now the band is back yet again with a music video for "Black" off the titled EP. “Black” features a sensual mature sound with smooth guitar solos. The video shows all three men dressed head to toe in black at a swanky looking location. For every girl that likes to wear black, here’s your anthem:

“You look as cool as the midnight hour
Saying that the night gives you power
Oh darling, I really want to make you mine
I love it when you wear black”

Drawing from bands such as Augustana, The Rolling Stones, John Mayer, Queen, and classic pop rock bands, the band works seamlessly well together. I’m excited to see what their (soon to be?) full length album will sound like.

Augustine’s “Picking Up Speed” evokes the warm, comfortable melancholia of a new love considered in the reflection of a bus window; not sad, but deeply emotional in a way that almost brings tears to your eyes for reasons you’re not sure you can explain.

Elli Moore doesn’t mean to come off like she’s emotionless, and yet her disaffection inevitably finds itself at home on her single “Stomach.” Despite the strong feelings she attempts to relate through the lyrics, it does not appear that prosody is one of this song’s gr...

Brooklyn based artist Chloe Lilac began her career sneaking out at age 13 to perform on the streets. Now in 2020, she’s making waves, playing SXSW, touring around, releasing music, and getting streams. She’s got a second album coming out soon, and here’s her new single...

Conan Gray is one of those cases where a small-town kid makes some very catchy music on Garageband and a cheap mic taped to a lamp and finds explosive success. This doesn’t always happen, and it’s a testament to Conan’s ability as a songwriter. Fast forward to the pres...

Texas-bred songwriter Zachary Knowles is just starting to get some much deserved attention. Signed under the prestigious record label FADER, Knowles is all set to drop his forthcoming EP titled Magnolia. His newest offering from this EP is called ‘Cherry Wine’.

The Youtube comments on this video seem pretty accurate.

This summertime guitar production mixes well with BabyJake's raspy singing, harmonies and a blackbear type of tone.  Also reminiscent of the Dominic Fike wave that's taking over, we're excited to hear more talente...
