NXNE (North By Northeast) takes over the Port Lands for the second year in a row from June 16th-25th, 2017. Major headliners this year include; Tyler the Creator, Post Malone, Passion Pit, and The Soul Rebels ft. Talib Kweli, to name a few. The second roster of more than 20 artists is set to be released in early April, and President and Managing Director of NXNE, Michael Hollett promises it will be a show worth seeing; “This year's Port Lands lineup will light up our stages with the most diverse voices in music today."

NXNE has been bumping in the best Toronto music venues every June since 1995, debuting the best emerging artists for continuously packed clubs. However, organizers have shook it up a bit this year; adding a comedy tent, midway rides and games, art installations, local food vendors, and free water refill stations.

They have also added a “Game Land”, which will host the largest, free, outdoor E-Sports event in Canada. Taking place in Toronto’s Yonge & Dundas Square from June 16-18th, gamers (newbs and pwners welcome) have the chance to play the world’s top, most popular video games. Players can also check out new games, crazy new technologies, and more, all to the beats of a professional DJ.

Hollett describes why the team decided to change a few things this time around; "The team at NXNE is driven by its passion for music and pop culture and it's what drives us to bring Torontonians the most dynamic and innovative programming possible”.  Keeping it fresh every year for audiences, NXNE is a great event to experience, and with artists taking over multiple venues across the city, it’s hard to miss.
