Just last night, Frank Ocean shared his second song of the month via Blonded RADIO named “Lens”. The radio debut included a solo version and a “V2” (version 2) featuring Travis Scott. The solo version was released on Apple and Spotify, while the featuring with La Flame can only be found on Soundcloud for now. The track is produced by Caleb Laven, Toronto’s Frank Dukes and Jarami.

It's suitable that Travis hopped on this to match Frank’s autotune-heavy vocal presence. It seems possible that they worked on this together (as Frank’s vocal style is more similar than usual to Scotts) but wanted a creative way of releasing this to make it seem separate.

Frank is nostalgically imagining his loved ones looking down on him. As quoted from the bridge:

Lionel got a lens, Janet got a lens

Matthew got a lens on me right now, yeah

Lionel is Frank’s grandfather and Janet his aunt. Both are deceased as stated in Issue 1 of Frank’s “Boys Don’t Cry” magazine. Matthew is referring to Matthew Lacey, a photographer and childhood friend of Frank’s, who inspired the autobiographical nature of Blonded.

Travis chimes in to touch on the paparazzi element on the lens concept;

Cameras, cameras on me I need tints

Smilin’ but inside I’m feelin bent

Listen to both versions below, do you think Travi$ added to the dynamic? How do you feel about Frank using autotune? Leave a comment below.
