 Bad Pony

With a showcase called Aussie Night Out, you don’t have to ask me to go twice! Bringing all the thunder from down under, ten Australian bands showcased true Aussie talent at The Hideout on April 20th – marking the third day of Canadian Music Week!

In the past, Sounds Australia brought the ever-so- popular Aussie BBQ to Canadian Music Week. This time they’ve switched venues and moved the time to the evening. At first I was a bit skeptical of the change (I was a huge fan of the BBQ) but I must admit, the Aussie Night Out was an extremely fun showcase.

Although it was a rainy night, The Hideout was packed with Canadian Music Week goers. The energy was high and the crowd was very receptive to each performance.

What I absolutely love about Canadian Music Week is the opportunity to see talent that I never would usually get the opportunity to see. Same goes for the artists. These Australian bands get to showcase their talent to an international audience, otherwise who may have not ever get the chance to hear their music.

Special shout out goes to rising Sydney electro-rock, Bad Pony and Sydney indie-rock Silver Love Club, for delivering stellar performances.

Prior to coming to Toronto, Bad Pony recently released their new single, “Deficiency” which premiered via Rolling Stone Australia and just wrapped a U.S. tour in Los Angeles, New York and Philadelphia before taking on Canadian Music Week.
