It’s been quite the year for Vancouver-native iamforest! With radio and blog premieres for the first singles from his Bridges EP on EARMILK, BIRP.FM, and LA’s KCRW, iamforest landed the opening slot for BANKS to a sold-out Vogue Theater in Vancouver, Canada.

Releasing his much-awaited Bridges EP on August 18th, 2017, iamforest, also known as Luke Forest Hartle, performed to an exciting homecoming crowd at the Biltmore Cabaret in East Vancouver, on August 25th.

Hailed as “a breath of fresh air in the electronic music scene” by Earmilk, Bridges features four solid tracks, all with Hartle's distinct ethereal sound. Born out of his desire to "bridge the gap between the inhuman perfection that electronic music allows, and the human imperfections that come with analogue instrumentation", this multi-instrumentalist, singer/songwriter, and audio engineer has carved his own path in the electronic genre. For longtime fans, Bridges fits in perfectly with Hartle's ever-evolving sound, and for new fans, it's an opportunity to dive headfirst into his catalogue.

Filed under songs-to-listen-to-while-driving-around-a-city-at-night, the title-track sits at a magical 4:14. To accompany the release, Hartle worked with Seattle-based creative production agency Armory Pacific for an equally stunning video. The result is a visually pleasing journey of lost and found memories, lead by ghostly vocals, analogue instrumentation and a fusion of digital hooks and beats.

I’m definitely excited to hear more from iamforest! Check out the video below and listen to the full Bridges EP on Soundcloud. Let us know what you think!

Yes, it might be late on in the year but Violet LaVelle’s “Summer Love”, from September’s “Afraid To Say I Love You” is a bright, poppy bop about the complexity of confusing the love of summer with a summer love. From the unwound cassette cover art with hand-made mixta...
