Hip hop comes to Marvel with the brand new Kendrick Lamar, SZA release, “All the Stars.” The two artists, who not only have worked together previously, but reside on the same record label, have shared the first single from the upcoming Black Panther movie, set to be released February 16th. After being chosen by the movie’s director, Ryan Coogler to curate and produce the soundtrack, Lamar and Top Dawg Entertainment’s Anthony Tiffith share what is the first taste of the film’s sound.
We were first given a hint towards Kendrick’s involvement with Black Panther in his newly released video for DAMN single, “LOVE”. Before Lamar takes place in a photo shoot surrounded by many gorgeous women, a clapperboard reads, “B.Panther Soundtrack Coming Soon.”
“All the Stars,” comes out as the first new music for the rapper and R&B singer SZA since both of them dropped highly acclaimed full-length albums in 2017. The track boast a big pop-hook, a bouncing drum beats, and cool rap stylings from the king of rap himself. While the song may be spritely next to the hard-hitting sounds of Lamar’s style and SZA’s honesty, it’s a positive sneak peak into what we should expect from the soundtrack.
