Like the best summer drink, Whethan’s new song “Be Like You” is smooth and light. The feel of this song is relaxing as hell while still managing to have a really cool beat, and the rawness of lyrics like “I don’t wanna be like you” pairs perfectly with the breathy vocals provided by musical duo Broods! If you’re looking for a more indie/pop sound for your summer playlist, this is definitely one that I’d recommend! Definitely be sure to check it out if you’re into musicians like Hayley Kiyoko!

Whethan (or Ethan Snoreck) is the DJ behind this song, and hails from none other than Chicago! At the young age of 18, and being in the business only two years, he has already made quite the name for himself. His song “Can’t Hide” with Ashe, Flux Pavilion, and MAX has already reached over 2 million plays on Spotify! Not only has he performed by SXSW, but he also collaborated with everyone’s favourite new English singer Dua Lipa on “High” which was featured in Fifty Shades Freed.

“Be Like You” features the voices of the Kiwi brother/sister duo Georgia Nott and Caleb Nott, better known as their stage name Broods. These singing siblings have been active for about five years, and in that short time have already toured with popular artists like Ellie Goulding, Haim, and Sam Smith! Their sound is perfect for anybody who loves chill music that can be used to help you relax in the hot sun of the summer, or at any time of the year when maybe you just want to let your mind wander! I know indie-pop is a favourite of mine, so feel free to join me in staying up way too late to memorize their entire discography!
