Tilsen's first single "Hurts" is a powerfully executed and innovative pop song. Tilsen was singing before she can speak, she tells us:

"As the daughter of an opera singer, I’ve formed a deep affinity with the human voice. I spend a lot of time reflecting on my life and my relationships, documenting my thoughts and feelings in my lyrics. My debut single is about the pain of love."

 She goes on to say;

"When you love somebody, they hold a lot of power over your emotions; to make you super happy but also super sad. It’s when you feel indifferent that you should worry –your feelings for them may be gone.

Love isn’t about being perfect or always getting along. It’s accepting another person and caring about them through the ups and downs, flaws and all.

Thank you for listening! My plan for 2019 is to release more music and play shows. I find that I learn quite a bit about my songs from playing them in a live setting; how they feel to perform and how the audience reacts can influence how the production is developed in studio."

We know it's love because it hurts, and we know Tilsen is here to stay bringing more heart-felt and catchy songs this year. Watch the powerful video above and stream it below!

"Hurts" has also topped the "New Faces of Toronto" Spotify playlist, an ideal place to find all of the best and latest music from the city.
