After his first track “Idle Town” about hometown Georgetown, TX went viral, Conan Gray landed a deal with Republic Records. With an already written EP he Joined forces with Dan Nigro to finalize his Sunset Season EP featuring “Generation Why” and “Crush Culture.” His EP debuted in November 2018 to critical acclaim from The Fader, Billboard, Ones to Watch, and landed him a performance on Late Night with Seth Meyers. “Idle Town” has earned 23 million Spotify streams and 12 million views and recent song “Crush Culture” has 10 million Spotify streams and 6 million views. After success supporting Panic at the Disco, he recently launched a sold out spring 2019 tour.

Conan’s new track “The King” follows hot on the heels of his successful EP.

Conan notes that his new track “is a song I wrote about a massive crush I had on someone who just wouldn’t admit they liked me back. In my case the person would always call me up late at night, talk about me constantly to their friends, and even show up at my house unannounced. So, I wrote this song as a last straw; as a ‘Hey, you’re not fooling anyone, we’re perfect for each other, and you should choose me.”

The Tempo of “The King” is more upbeat than previous tracks on Conan’s EP. He has written a number of successful songs that fans find relatable and “The King” is no exception. He describes the challenges of a seemingly unattainable relationship, and the pain of waiting with this catchy new track. With a song that gives off Lorde like vibes, he has created an anthem that fans will enjoy. His strong vocals are paired with a dynamic beat to create another successful single. This song shows the versatility of Conan’s style and excites about what is to come from this new artist.
