Hot off 18-months of eclectic new singles, being the youngest freshest act at 2017’s Sprung Hip-Hop Festival and national tour support for beloved Aussie stars Thundamentals on their Brisbane tour; iiiConic is back with a fresh new hip-hop track.
Originating from Ghana, West Africa this Brisbane based teen rapper continues to make serious waves across the country with his eclectic new-wave sound. After his recent debut headline tour stretching from Brisbane to Melbourne, he continues to attract an adoring, tight-knit fan base.

‘Touring was really fun. The Brisbane show was definitely the biggest highlight. It felt so good to see familiar faces in my hometown. I learnt to always enjoy every moment while I was on tour.’

iiiConics singles have gained immense traction online; racking up thousands of streams and his single ‘Plans’ made its way to number 31 on ‘Australia’s Viral 50’ playlist on Spotify. His singles have also appeared in Spotify’s ‘New Music Friday,’ ‘A1 Hip-Hop,’ and ‘All Aussie Hip Hop’ and Apple Music’s ‘Best of the Week,’ ‘The A-List: Hip-Hop,’ ‘New Fire,’ and ‘Breaking Hip Hop’.
iiiConic describes how it felt seeing his singles on a number of up and coming playlists:

‘It’s dope! I am so thankful for the people at Spotify and Apple Music for supporting me throughout my career.’

His latest track ‘Needs’ was released worldwide on Friday July 5th. ‘Needs’ is filled with lush adlibs coursing through the chorus and an old school hip hop sound that we have come to know from this young artist. This song displays the passion to reach his potential and the willingness to overcome any challenges he is faced with. You’ll find yourself singing along to ‘Needs’ as it showcases iiiConic’s strong vocals. iiiConic describes ‘Needs’ as:

‘A diary of my personal needs at the time of writing the song. I had started this new chapter of my life and I pretty much decided to write about it.’

iiiConic’s mission is to nurture a culture that shines a spotlight on Australia’s Hip Hop as a global phenomenon for the masses around the world, rather than select pockets of hip hop niches. iiiConic’s attitude, sound and energy is as exciting as it is refreshing, and this hungry young emcee plans to dominate the new wave before flaunting his music on a global scale. Keep an eye out for what’s to come from this fresh young artist.
