Yesterday marks the release of "Be Like You" by HAYL. This production has a great swing groove to it making it hard not to bump to. She has a beautifully airy yet sharp falsetto tone thats followed by the same qualities in her mid-range tone on the verses.

HAYL says,

I wrote Be Like You when it wasn't parallel to my life at all. Then a few months later I was heartbroken by someone who couldn’t love me or himself. It was crazy how much this song spoke to me. He moved on so fast it seemed like being in the same room didn’t affect him, while it was killing me. This song comes from a place of believing I was worthless. Feeling lonely and angry at the same time. I hope this song gives you hope that heartbreak won’t last forever, even when your'e drowning in it.

Still relatively new on the scene, this marks her 3rd single release through Sony Sweden and ATLAST Records. Her debut track "Wire" passed 200k streams on Spotify.

Nashville-based indie pop artist and songwriter, HAYL, strives for you to feel the authenticity of life with her music. Her lyrics are emotionally rich and express to listeners how vulnerability is brave.

HAYL grew up in a small Florida beach town with two sisters, one of which is still non-verbal and autistic. Expressing feelings had always been an important struggle in her life because she didn’t want to disrupt the peace within her household. Writing songs and playing music became almost a remedy to that. In 2017, she gave up a corporate job to pursue her musical dream. In addition to co-writing with other artists, HAYL is involved in her own project within the pop sphere. With influences like Sasha Sloan, Lauv, and Lennon Stella, HAYL has worked tirelessly to create a unique sound that showcases ethereal vocals, moody instrumentals with production that is both springy and modern.

“I love having deep convos with people, and I want my music to be just that; love, hurt, struggle, jealousy, happiness & so much more because we’re all human, well most of us.” - HAYL

The Youtube comments on this video seem pretty accurate.

This summertime guitar production mixes well with BabyJake's raspy singing, harmonies and a blackbear type of tone.  Also reminiscent of the Dominic Fike wave that's taking over, we're excited to hear more talente...
