LINDSEY STIRLING PROVIDES HYBRID EDM WITH ELLE KING AND "THE UPSIDE"

October 24, 2019

"The Upside” is an anthemic electronic dance mix that showcases Elle King’s bluesy rock-n-roll vocal timbre and Lindsey Stirling’s signature electronic violin style. The 118 BPM track combines elements of progressive house and traditional pop to create a feeling that is soulful, high-energy, and bold. Elle King's vocals remind me of Toronto singer Lights, and it helps that the production is something similar to what she would sing on, minus the violin which is what made this track stand out as extra unique in the first place.

Artists like Stirling keep music interesting and genres bending. The violin adds a classical sound component to a modern electronic atmosphere that really paints a different picture than what we're used to.

Lindsey Stirling is a globally recognized electronic violinist and songwriter. Lindsey has amassed well over 11 million YouTube subscribers, 2 billion-plus YouTube streams, and won multiple Billboard Music Awards since the release of her self-titled debut album in 2012. In 2016, Lindsey Stirling was the highest grossing Electronic Artist ahead of headlining acts like The Chainsmokers, Flume, and Kygo. Lindsey is also a New York Times Bestselling author and previously featured in Forbes ’30 Under 30’ list. Beginning this summer, Stirling will embark on tours in both Europe and Mexico.

It's not that often that I find acoustic songs completely fulfilling. Prom Queen Crown by Rallie and Coal however has all the needed elements. Captivating chord progressions, beautiful vocals and subtle progression to provide expanding elements.

Rallie & Coal are an art...

Not only is the song concept very ironically relatable to this rising generation, but this production is incredibly refreshing. From the chord progression to the balance of nostalgic and modern synths, quirky percussion and of course Anna's angelic vocal tone. And she'...

Brooklyn Semhar waxes melancholic and laments a family divided on “Daddy.” This track is a smouldering, slow-burning groove that pulls itself along with all the moodiness of its subject matter. It is arranged beautifully, and reflects a refreshing jazz influence in its...
