After making waves on BBC 1 and 6 music with some highly acclaimed singles, Ali Horn has released his debut EP ‘It Wears Off’.

‘It Wears Off’ is dreamy and washy, but held solidly together with tight arrangements. Crisp drums support twangy guitars and lush ethereal textures.  Ali also delivers some great songwriting here, sung softly and directly, with subtle and clear lyrics focussed on loneliness and mental anguish, bolstering strong melodies. There’s something comforting about this record. It feels human and humble.

The best thing about this EP is the sounds themselves. There are truly unique and interesting effects going on here: great guitar tones, and great heavily modded synth sounds. It’s rich and tasty, and a recommended listen.
